TLS FORENSIC was founded by Dr. Thomas Jenkyn, PhD, PEng in 2008 and he heads up the TLS FORENSIC team.
Dr. T Jenkyn and the TLS FORENSIC Team have extensive industry experience using the principles of physics, biomechanics and engineering to investigate and explain the physical and physiological responses to impact that result in human injury.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has been providing expert opinion for both the plaintiff and defense in civil and criminal cases involving injury biomechanics right across North America. He has been qualified to give expert testimony in Injury Biomechanics, Accident Reconstruction, Forensic Engineering, Medical Imaging and has provided detailed reports in more than 90 Accident Reconstruction and Injury Biomechanics cases.
Dr. T. Jenkyn is a full-time tenured Professor of Human Biomechanics at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON, Canada. At Western Dr. Jenkyn runs two laboratories. The first lab is a 3D x-ray fluoroscopy lab that studies musculoskeletal injuries and trauma in orthopaedic patients. This laboratory is one of only and handful in North America. His second lab is an Impact Biomechanics laboratory that quantifies thresholds of injury in bone and soft tissue. For his training, Dr. Jenkyn held a Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA. His PhD in Biomedical Engineering was awarded by the renowned Bioengineering Unit at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK, one of the first academic programs in biomechanics in the world.
